Are used as de-acidifiers on metal surfaces. It is especially important for water-soluble process fluids (ferrous metals are not oxidized in alkaline conditions). Ethanolamines are also used a raw material in the production of water-soluble lubricants, emulsifiers in the role of corrosion inhibitors and biocides.
